Begin Your Journey to Wellness

Sometimes it takes dealing with difficulties- the trauma, the relearning, the emotional struggle- to uncover our true abilities and how we can put them to work for us in ways we may have never imagined.

Meet Eugenia Rodriguez                                   Senior Clinical Psychologist
Accredited EMDR Therapist

Hi, I am Eugenia and I am originally from a beautiful country in Central America called Costa Rica. From a very young age friends and family told me that I was good at listening and helping people. I became very interested in studying psychology. I am very passionate about it. I dedicated 9 years of my life to complete my degrees in Clinical Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy, and Organisational Psychology. After working both as an organisation consultant and a clinical psychologist in Costa Rica; I decided to focus all my attention in the clinical area and trained in the USA in different therapeutic approaches and worked with different people with a variety of cultures and difficulties. It has been a 20 plus year journey working with clients.

After working in Costa Rica, I moved to Los Angeles California, got a master degree as a Marriage and Family Therapist and worked there for 3 years. In 2008 I moved to New Zealand, the place I call my second home. I started my family here and I have been working in New Zealand ever since as a clinical psychologist providing therapy to clients and providing supervision to psychologists, psychotherapists and EMDR clinicians.

I have been trained and I have experience in psychological assessments, psychotherapy, marriage and family therapy, neuropsychotherapy, drug and alcohol counselling, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), trauma informed therapy and hypnotherapy, among others.

I am registered as a Clinical Psychologist with the New Zealand Board of Psychologists, member of EMDR Association of NZ, member of the New Zealand College of Clinical Psychologists, and the International Association of Clinical Neuropsychotherapy.
